November Favourites

November was more like a friends and family month. I met so many people this month, it was more like my favourite month because I like being around everyone and just having fun. Let’s jump straight into my November:

Sister’s Birthday: The month started off with my sister’s birthday on the 1st of November. Initially, we thought it was just going to be the four of us, but 2-3 days before her birthday, my grandmother called and she said that they’ll join us too. So we went to Sigree, Powai for her birthday dinner. It was so nice to have the whole family around after a long time. How I love celebrating with everyone! Since I know how tired she gets from her work schedule, so I gifted her a spa coupon from Myo Thai, which she really valued, she never knew I would put this much thought into buying her a gift, but she loved it.

Weekend Getaway: This was a plan that my school friends were making since quite some time and finally it happened. We went to Lonavala for the weekend and I must tell you that I loved the bungalow that we had booked. Just in case, if you are looking for a space in Lonavala, Valley Vista is the name that I would like to recommend. Anyway, I enjoyed this mini-trip and had fun.

Day Out: I really wanted to meet this one friend since a month, but he had his exams going on so we couldn’t meet. Whenever my mind troubles me, I talk it out with this person. He is more like my remedy. Finally, we both got free and had this amazing day out in Mumbai, we were literally place hopping that day, but it was so much fun. The wait was worth it!

Movie Night: It is very rare that our family goes to the movies and that too at night because everyone has to wake up early the next day. But we made it this time, it was such an impromptu plan and I love such plans. We went for Dear Zindagi and I really liked the movie. I wish I go for more such movies with my family.

How was your November?

Amidst all the workload and crazy tight schedule, finally my family and I planned a short trip to Indore and Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh, India). It was just a 3 days trip, but ah! it was just so relaxing and refreshing, away from all the daily chaos. I think everyone should take some timeout from their schedules. At first it seems difficult to take some time off, but trust me its worth it and work can be managed even after your small vacation. So, go for it !

Talking about my trip, whenever we go to Ujjain, we usually hit the road and take our own car. The drive takes about 10-12 hours (Mumbai – Ujjain), with the tea and lunch breaks. That is a fun experience in itself. But, this time we wanted to take the plane. Initially, dad was a bit reluctant for that because it was heavy on the budget, but we convinced him *wink*.

We booked our flights with IndiGo and had a great and smooth flight with them. (I mentioned this because I don’t like flying) But IndiGo was amazing. We first went to Ujjain to visit this Lord Shiva Temple and stayed a night over there. (If you want a day plan for Ujjain, then let me know in the comments)

Then came the second day, my favourite day, we went to Indore. I was looking forward to this day because we were going to check-in at the Sayaji Hotel, which is an amazing classy Hotel in Indore. I LOVE their comfy beds and soothing showers, just so relaxing. We stayed there for a night and my experience with them was yet again amazing. Their food, hospitality, courteous staff, services, in short everything is up-to the mark.

My dad and I also went for swimming for a little while and that was the best thing that happened on this trip. It was like going back-in-time and reliving the swimming memories with him. It was he who held my hands and taught me to swim. We relived that moment again in the pool of Sayaji Hotel. And the next day, that is the third day, with a very heavy heart, we left our rooms and headed towards the airport to come back home.

It was a short and sweet trip but so refreshing. Take time out and travel, you guys !

Here are a few pictures from this beautiful trip !

Keep Traveling !

Ohh Womaniya!

Time heals everything. It also makes you miss the memories that you have created over a couple of years. I have had some of the best days of my life over the last 3 years. I have learnt so much, I have been backstabbed, I have been loved and cared for, there were people who were good to me and then there were some who just faked being good to me. I have learnt a lot.

I have done all sorts of crazy stuff with this girl gang of mine. I knew I was important to them, they made me feel that. I knew they always had my back. Of course there were situations and moments that made us go against each other, but deep down there are no hard feelings for each other. I still love them genuinely and miss each and everything about them, even their annoying habits.

It was with them that I had my first sleepover, my first night out, my first sneaking out of the house, my first alcohol session, my first bunking of lecture, my first group project, my first roaming around the city with them, my first fresher’s party, well basically most of my firsts. We have our own little secrets that have never left the group even after the group broke up. We have had our moments of tears, happiness, fun, craziness, sadness, and what not. There is absolutely nothing that we haven’t done together, nothing that we haven’t spoken about/discussed in detail. We have gone out for lunches, dinners, celebrated our birthdays together, bought gifts and above all we have been there for each other.

I miss each one of them. They have all been individually connected to me at some level or the other. One taught me to be crazy and just enjoy the moment and made me do completely crazy stuff under the name of YOLO. The other drama queen whose babysitter I was for most of the times was my dance partner throughout. The ever jumpy photographer friend, we never really connected at first, but eventually we got along well. Then there was this other friend who looked after us like a typical mother, literally. Then there was a friend who seemed more like an elder sister to me, she was always concerned about me. In the third year of college, when I thought that I would be alone in a different class because majority of them chose the other specialization, I grew close to this self obsessed girl. Then there was also this one girl who always got her earphones along to every sleepover. One of them was a very talkative person, again literally! The other one always gave us dating and sex tips. Another one was a complete patriotic at heart and did things her way no matter what others said about her. And last but not the least, I found my best friend in this group, who will be there with me always, no matter what.

I am going to miss them all so much. We have so many memories together. I wouldn’t trade them for anyone. And also I don’t want them to change even one single thing about them. They are the best exactly the way they are. I am seriously looking forward to the day or night when we all would meet again, just like the old days, catching up on life, sharing our little secrets and promising to keep them safe.

What happens in the group stays in the group, forever.

Re-live it!

With the coming in of all new kind of technology and gadgets, life has changed over the past couple of years. I feel sad when kids don’t go out and play these days. I see school going children huddled up in the play ground and instead of deciding a game to play, they share songs via Bluetooth. I mean, c’mon they should be playing, like some real game. Playing fifa or staying glued to the play station all the time isn’t fun. Playing hide and seek is fun, cricket and football and hobby classes is fun, getting treated with video game after you have done something good is fun, once in a while Mario, Tetris, Contra, Circus and Super Tank is fun.

I miss my childhood, carefree days. When staying at home was a big no-no during summer vacations. And it’s funny that summer vacations are going on right now, but I don’t see that excitement in the kids in my society. They aren’t very excited about cleaning their bicycles’ and riding all day long. I feel sad that that’s what I want to do right now, but even I can’t. Why? Because I have grown up? Then no, I don’t want to grow up. I don’t want to chase my dreams and goals already. I want to play and enjoy. I want to show these kids that how it is to actually enjoy your summer vacations and make the most of it. School years aren’t to talk about break ups and patch ups (yes, that’s what they talk about with mobile phones in their hands)

I want to relive those days, where you could flaunt your scars and tell great stories about how you got them. Unlike how it’s now, where people try to cover up all sorts of scars. It’s okay to be damaged. Everything has a story behind it. Find out about that. Don’t let the child inside you die with all the technology and fast paced world. Once in a while keep doing things that you loved to do as a child, even if it’s running like a maniac. Just do it! Just live. You don’t have to shape yourself according to the world all the time. Just be happy and do things your way. Don’t hesitate or don’t even give a second thought to anything that you love. Things will be much sorted this way.

Okay so I gotta go now, I have to pull out my old roller skates.

Enter in style

No, I am not talking about a party to enter into, but I am talking about stepping into the new year in style. This new years party was a great one. It was that great that I don’t remember bits and pieces of it  (Don’t judge me). I had worn a blue short dress. What’s a party without the touch of glamour? Anyway, coming back to the party, it was basically a house party. Though we had the feel of being in some club. Courtesy a friend who apparently carries his EDM playlist and lights with him. God bless him for that. Good food and alcohol goes really well with great company. We danced our way into the new year. And hey what’s that thing about kissing someone special at midnight?

How did you step into the new year?

48 hours in a minute!

The last 48 hours have been quite hectic and exciting and fun for me. Which is why I am tired now and won’t write much. Anyway it started with cleaning the house on 4th when my mother wasn’t home, and yes its clean now. I was then short of 2 followers short of 100 for this blog, and I was overwhelmed with all you beautiful people out there who increased this number. Thank you. I had my solo belly dance performance later that evening at a Rotary function. It was my third performance so far, so I am confident about it now. The audience appreciated my dance and I was overwhelmed once again. And then as the clock struck 12, my happiness had no boundaries, may 5th, my birthday. By the way, did I mention it to you guys that it was my 20th birthday? Oh yes it was. And it was an incredible day. Still can’t believe my teen years are over. Anyway now I lay tired in my bed with my eyes half shut. And I am logging off for now. Zzzzzz
