We all like looking at ourselves in every reflect-able object, right? Be it a mirror, a spoon, a shiny tile, or even water, we just love our reflections.
Passing by every mirror, we always fix our hair, our lipstick, clothes or just smile, but we do that. Everyone cares about what’s on the outside, that’s what it has come to now.

Exterior over the interior, correct?

Have you ever tried looking at your reflection in a pan of water?
Now, let me just rephrase the last question, have you ever tried looking at your reflection in a pan of boiling water?
You can’t see your reflection in boiling water, try as much as you want to. Similarly, you can’t see the truths in your life in a state of anger. Start your journey from the outside to the inside, and until and unless the inside is calm and in peace, you won’t be able to see the inner reflection of yours.

No one likes a person who is angry all the time. No matter how beautiful you are on the outside, if on the inside you are not at peace with yourself, you will never be able to win over people, you will never be able to get things done, no one is going to like you. And if no one is going to like you anyway so what is the point of having a good exterior?

Think about it, you are who you are because of what is on the inside, not for outside beauty.
Let me put it this way, ‘Why do you love your partner/friend?’
Is it only because they look good or they dress up in a good manner? No, it is because you love them for the way they are, you love their insides more! If someone comments negatively on their appearance, your immediate reaction is, “I love them for the way they are / but they are amazing / I don’t care about the looks, XYZ is a good human being”
This is only because you like them from the inside.

Why can’t you be a that good person so that even your inner reflection is as beautiful as you are on the outside? Beauty will fade away one day or another, but you are still going to be you. Why not work hard towards making that person, a better person?

Be the reflection that you would love to see, no matter how clean or muddy the water is.
